Raw Records/Raw Divisions
The following are the guidelines for
competing in the raw division and setting raw
records:
-
A lifter can use wrist wraps, knee wraps,
and a regulation belt, but no other equipment
is allowed.
-
Any local USAPL meet can have a raw
division; it is up to the meet director.
- Lifters must choose if they whether they
will compete in the raw division or the
equipped division for each meet. They may
not compete in both divisions at once.
- Lifters may set raw records for
individual lifts and for the total in the raw
division.
- Lifters may not set a record for a
raw single lift or for the raw total if they
are competing in the equipped division and
wear a suit for any lift.
- If lifters are competing in the raw division
and set an equipped record, that record will
be counted in both divisions.
WA State began keeping raw records as of
August 2006.
Changes to divisions
Starting in 2008, we will keep track of records for disabled lifters.
As of January 2007, the lightest weight
classifications for men and women (52 kg/115
lb and 44 kg/97 lb) are only for teens and
juniors. Also, as of June 2007 WA state
will no longer use the submaster category so we
align with USAPL age categories.
New record formats
All records - powerlifting, single lifts, and
raw - are now combined in one place.
This should improve the accuracy of
record-keeping and make it easier for
everyone. As usual, if you see errors,
please email me at jill@nwusapl.com.
